COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course introduces modern open-source tools and workflows for GIS analysis, data management, and web mapping. It focuses on using QGIS as a core desktop GIS, integrating it with PostGIS for spatial databases, and publishing data through GeoServer for web applications.
Participants will also explore cloud-native geospatial technologies such as Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFFs (COG), STAC catalogs, and modern data formats for efficient analysis of large and remote datasets. The course emphasizes practical, real-world open-source GIS workflows.
