GIS Programming – Front-End Technologies

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course introduces the fundamentals of web-based GIS and interactive map development using front-end technologies. Participants will learn how to build map interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and how to create dynamic web maps with Leaflet.js.

The course covers structuring web pages for mapping, styling responsive map layouts, working with JavaScript for data handling and APIs, and visualizing spatial data using GeoJSON. By the end of the course, learners will complete a hands-on project creating an interactive web map with popups, styling, and external data integration.

You will learn to:

• Build web map layouts using HTML and CSS

• Use JavaScript to handle data, events, and APIs

• Create interactive maps with Leaflet.js

• Display and style GeoJSON data on the web

• Develop a complete front-end web GIS project
